Ever since the Covid-19 pandemic, FSU transitioned to virtual classes. This was definitely an adjustment for me because during that time, I was a freshman who was getting accustomed to being away for college. When I returned home in the spring 2020 semester, I had to adjust my schedule, so I could allot time for my classes. Oftentimes, it was difficult to focus on school work because I was distracted by activities happening at home. Yet, I was grateful to spend more time with my family during these unprecedented circumstances. We grew closer as a family. Despite the distractions, I was able to handle it, and I took four extra classes in the summer so I could graduate early. That was definitely useful because I gained ten credits as a distant learner.      As a future teacher, I would want to improve the experience of distant learners. For example, I want to provide multiple resources for distant learners, so they can access important information. It can be difficult to communicat

I learned several aspects from the Web Design assignment. I learned how to imbued my own calendar to a website and make changes as needed. Although it is not real life, this skill can be useful for my future career. I was able to make changes to the calendar, and it would automatically appear on the website. I was also able to find several academic resources that would help parents and students. I liked the design of my  website, and I was able to create it according to my personality. For certain components, it was a bit difficult to navigate. For instance, I was not sure how to change certain fonts or colors. I had to use the elements on the left to understand how it worked.  Link to Website     I learned new skills while using Diigo. Although it only functions in Chrome, I have used the extension to annotate, book mark, and highlight the sources I have found. This application can be useful in my classroom, with team members, and in my individual professional efforts. I can use

I decided to observe the teacher website for my elementary school. On the website, there was not much public access to each teacher's page. However, the website was well organized and provided useful information for those who were interested in the school. Specifically, the website had a link titled, "Our Team." Here, viewers could meet the faculty and staff at the school. Although there was not a hyperlink to the teacher page, there were pictures provided for each individual who works at the school. There was contact information and schedules in order to meet the faculty and tour the school. Because I do not have log-in privileges, I was unable to view more information regarding the teacher pages.  Link:  OLL Faculty and Staff     In the future, I   envision myself using technology to accomplish my professional responsibilities more efficiently and effectively. For example, I plan to use teacher productivity tools such as Weebly and Wix. These tools allow me to cre

This is the first time I have ever used Diigo for a course. I think it is a unique and interesting tool to use for class discussions and group work. I like how I can see others' comments and posts from our class. I do not like that I cannot use Diigo in Safari. That is typically what I use when I access the Internet, so I tend to forget to use Chrome when I log into my Diigo account. Overall, I like the highlighting, annotating, and bookmarking methods that Diigo offers.      I enjoy our class blogs. I'm not one to blog as I am a private person. However, I think it is a great tool to use for class discussions. I like to read my classmates' responses and sometimes I comment on their posts. By completing the participation portfolios, I have the opportunity to comment on the blogs and read others' perspectives. Throughout the blogging process, I learned to respect others' opinions. Everyone's opinion matters, and it is important to be understanding about others

I've had a Twitter account for my own personal use since 2013. However, I created a new account for this course. Last night, I interacted with those on the #BuildHOPedu Twitter chat. This Twitter chat was wonderful, and I met new people from around the country. Each of them has a goal to make education a hopeful and safe environment for everyone. Interacting with them has been beneficial because we all share the same ideas and thoughts about education. Finding a group of people who share these sentiments allows us to connect, even if it's through the Internet. In my future career as a lawyer, I hope to use Twitter in a positive way. With the help of Twitter, I can connect with my clients on a daily basis. I can share my information such as office location and times of operation. Twitter can be used as a great networking device.      Digital Divide can affect a student's success in the classroom. In today's society, the majority of education is done on a technologi

I chose grade level eight, and the LAFS.8.L.3.4 standard. For this standard, I would clarify the meaning of words for my eighth grade students. Specifically, I would focus on words from class readings and content that my students do not understand. The readings would be for eighth grade students. The strategies implemented would include: using context such as word position, using common-Latin roots, consulting reference materials like dictionaries and glossaries, and verifying the definition of words. I do feel prepared to implement this standard based on my current skill set. This grade level is about to enter high school and as an English major, I believe I have the skill set to teach my students how to understand words they do not know. I have had to reach lots of novels and understand words I do not know. I can use my own experience to help my students understand. This too involves patience and understanding where my students are struggling in class.      For tools and resource

Copyright is the legal right to publish, print, film, or perform material. Originators of these materials give authorization and access for others to copyright. In the United States copyright law, fair use allows others, under certain circumstances, to copyright without the need for permission. With fair use, individuals can copy verbatim for purposes that deal with criticism, teaching, and news reporting. As a teacher, I hope to set the rules for plagiarism in the classroom. This is something that I will not tolerate, and I will actively monitor my students' work especially when they use outside sources to find information. A good method to use for plagiarism purposes is Turnitin. This is a great resource to check if my students have copied another's work. Also, if I suspect a student is cheating, I can verify with another student's exam/homework and look for any similar sentences or even handwriting.     Two technology  implementation issues that I would have in the
